Published May 9th, 2008 by Wolfull

I have been getting lots of reads of my ‘Life after Kitchen Nightmares’ article but in the format it was published (one big post) it was a pain to update, hence I decided it best to split the article up into lots of little articles so I can update and manage it easier.

It’s still a work in progress so expect lots of updates.
USA section is nearing completion.

Looks pretty good, although my google video plugin is causing a few issues.

Website should be back to normal by tomorrow night.

For those of us dating/interacting or what not with Chinese it’s a bit awkward trying to watch English films with them unless you have subtitles.

I’ve found the best places to find subtitles for DVDs (or DivX backups) is http://shooter.cn/. Although the website is all in Mandarin it’s quite simple to use.

  1. Type in English title of the film you want subs for
    1. If subs are available you will be now presented with a list of different subtitles sources.
    2. Each source will have under it what type of subtitle it is, eg Vobsub;Subrip and what it is suited for DVDs, DivXs etc.
  2. Click on the suitable subtitle link
  3. On the new page, midway down you’ll see either a . ZIP or .RAR file link.
    1. Click on it
  4. Click the download button in the middle of the page.
    1. It’ll now display a list of download mirrors, click any to download the subs.

If you don’t know how to get subtitles to work with films there is heaps of tutorials around, good luck.

May 2004, The Daily Mail reports chef Tim has been offered a job by Gordon Ramsay to work in one of his London restaurants, but Tim knocked back the offer as he has ambitions to run three of his own restaurants and become a TV celebrity. More Info.

July 2004, Sue Ray the owner, says she is going to sue Gordon Ramsay and the television show producers for landing her £400,000 in debt. Claiming the episode unfairly portrayed her restaurant. More Info

June 2006, Ramsay won a High Court case against the London Evening Standard, which had alleged, after reports from previous owner of Bonapartes, Sue Ray, that scenes and the general condition of the restaurant, which was the subject of the first episode of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, had been faked. Ramsay was awarded £75,000 plus costs. Ramsay said at the time: “I won’t let people write anything they want to about me. We have never done anything in a cynical, fake way.” Wikid

August 2007, Tim the ex-chef goes to court over drink driving offenses, he claimed the negative publicity from the show has led him to drink driving. Oops forgot to Blog
Published October 8th, 2007 by Wolfull

Ack long time no update but I’ve been distracted by other novelties.

Sadly I’m still waiting on my Widescreen lens to arrive, if it hasn’t arrived by the end of this week I’ll probably pull my money back and grab it locally($30 more, but at least I wont have to wait another 4 weeks).

Went up lower Mt. Wellington with my GF yesterday to grab some nature footage for my green screening. I managed to get 10 minutes of REALLY good footage before it started to rain, I’ll hopefully head up Mt. Wellington again this coming weekend.
Also on the video editing front I’ve been doing a lot of storyboarding but not much editing, previous projects I’ve done the filming first then the planning second… finally going to do it the proper way hence when the project is done expect it to be decent! (for real)

On a random note; I had too much Chinese the other week.. decided I didn’t like it anymore, then after a short break I realised I missed the Chinese… Although I’m still undecided if I really like Chinese or not, but I think I do like it.

*On a site related note; spammers seem to of found this site(over 100 msgs over the past fortnight) so I had to make comments via approval only(you only need to get approval once then all your future comments will be auto approved.)
